obsessive picture taking – CELEBRATE LIFE!
people are always poking fun at me because i am constantly taking photos. mom and i go out shopping and i take fifteen photos before we even get to the shop. a friend and i go out for brunch and i refuse to take a bite of my meal until it has been properly photographed. if the lighting isn’t good, i’ll keep taking shots until i capture it. the mister and i will go out geocaching and i’ll take pictures of everything along the way. i am obsessed with documenting everything around me.

the mister and i actually had a chat recently about how he “doesn’t understand” my obsession with taking photos. he told me, “i’ve just always thought taking pictures was for an occasion, something that doesn’t happen every day.” he said he could understand taking pictures at a wedding or birthday party, but not of my meal, the clouds, my outfit of the day, or just when i’m feeling particularly cute.
here’s what i say: why wait for an “occasion” to capture a moment?
celebrate LIFE!
every day is an occasion!
why i document my life:
- i try to find the beauty in everything; everything and everyone around me.
- i like watching myself grow. by documenting every day, for years, i can see my transitions over the years. it’s amazing.
- i simply enjoy photography.
- i want to inspire and influence others, especially with my food choices. i love showing people that yes, although i am vegan, i don’t just eat twigs, nuts and seeds. (;
- i am a bit vain, not going to lie. i love and appreciate myself more than i ever had, and my love grows stronger every day. (:
- to express my gratitude. if it’s a beautiful day, i want to capture it and express to the universe how grateful i am.
- …this list could keep going…
documenting life by taking photos it’s just for “special occasions” anymore. we don’t use the internet for only aol news anymore. cell phones have replaced home phones. it’s the year 2010 and things have changed. (;
so if you haven’t already hop on the bandwagon. i use my iphone to take the majority of my photos and it is just perfect. however, i really want to take my bad boy (my canon) with me wherever i go, so i can have higher quality images and such. (:
- are you obsessed with taking photos?
- do people poke fun at you as well?
- how do you share your photos with the world?

wishing you a truly magickal day.

I ABSOLUTELY love your mosaic! People that don’t shoot everyday don’t get it; it’s not always about having the photo but having the memory of why you snapped it in the first place. That’s what I love about photography – the image reminds you of that exact moment in time. Keep your shutter busy – I love it!
exactly! see, i’m not crazy! (;
i’m digging your blog, btw. totes going to steal that no-bake cookie recipe! i used to make those things all the time and completely forget they existed! (; thanks for dropping by today. (: xo
It is just the artist in you…I always see what others don’t as well, makes us unique!! Keep up the great work!
this is amazing
:):)i love your little collage! i’m also addicted to takin photos and i love your list of reasons for documenting everything. it’s the best thing ever looking through photos and realising how much you’ve changed over the years
i really enjoy your blog, very refreshing and inspiring, keep it up
:) x
